Week 10: New Tool: Easel by TPT
Easel by TPT
What is Easel?
Easel is a new addition to Teachers Pay Teachers, which allows educators to create digital activities that students can utilize and complete during online learning. I have been using this to create and assign learning tasks and activities to my students online.
How it works:
Educators must first create and customize their assignment, or use an Easel activity already created on TPT, to be completed online. They will then assign this to students via Google Classroom or through a generated link. After students complete the assignment online, teachers will then review their completed work and provide feedback on Easel.
Overview video:
Benefits of this tool:
- More efficient and engaging online learning assignments
- Easily able to be shared with students online for completion
- Educators can filter activities on TPT so that they are confirmed Easel activities
- Customized to fit students' needs
- Add feedback directly to students' work

Changes for future implementation:
I have not used the feedback feature on Easel just yet, since I typically post feedback in the comments section on Google Classroom. I plan to add feedback directly on students' assignments, so that it is posted on their completed learning assignment.
Hi Kayla,
ReplyDeleteI must say I do not use TPT and out District does not use Google Classroom to high school. However, with this new feature, I might have to start researching TPT a bit since it seems more streamlined. Thank you for the information!

ReplyDeleteKayla,
I recently saw Easel while searching for a TPT activity, but have not had a chance to explore it yet. I love the idea of the generated link, especially the first time introducing my students to a new activity. I feel as though we spend so much navigating how to get to the activity that a link in our meeting chat is quick and simple. I will have to check it out when I have a moment. Thanks.

Great that you are already utilizing this tool and finding it beneficial. I am sure it will appeal to your colleagues since it is compatible with GC.
