Week 13: Infused Classroom: Google's Voice Typing

 Google: Voice Typing Google's Voice Typing is a tool that can be accessed in the Tools section of the toolbar. This tool allows students to dictate their thoughts and information into a Google Doc or a Google Slide. Introduction Video: Benefits: Google's voice typing tool is beneficial for students in many ways. It can help students that have challenges with verbal processing, executive functioning, dyslexia, dysgraphia, visuals impairments, and so much more. This tool helps students get their ideas onto paper during writing tasks, which can alleviate frustrations or feelings of inferiority. Uses: - Language Practice - Use during "Writer's Block" to journal their thoughts and ideas - Write out responses to assignments - Collaborate and share ideas with others using a shared Doc

Week 13: New Tool: Quizlet

Quizlet Quizlet  is an app, similar to Brainscape discussed last week, that is used to help students create and study flashcards online. This can be accessed via web or mobile platform. Students and/or teachers can either create their own electronic flashcard set, or they can simply search and find sets that have already been published. This app is free and extremely easy to use. Benefits:  - Students can study vocab words from any device. - Flashcards are electronic and in one space, so students will not worry about losing or misplacing their cards. - Offers study and quiz modes so students can challenge themselves before upcoming tests or quizzes Uses/ Changes to future instruction: I can use this tool during future instruction when beginning a unit, so students can identify and record their terms electronically. Week 12: Infused Classroom: Book Creator

 Book Creator Book Creator is a tool that allows educators and students to create and share ebooks within the classroom. This tool is free, and educators can create a "Teacher Library" which unlimited students can join. This tool can greatly benefit children who are reluctant to read.  Benefits & Uses: Students can use this tool to create collaborative pages using provided templates. They can then use the record feature to explain the information listed on the pages, and then share with their peers. This is an engaging way for students to work together to create stories, retell stories, or present upon a topic, especially during remote learning. Student creation options: - Comics - Digital portfolios - Math concept books - Science journals - Books/ reports Tutorial for students: I look forward to trying out this tool within my classroom and building an engaging library for students, as well as of students work!

Brainscape Brainscape is an app that is used to help students create and study interactive flashcards. This can be accessed via web or mobile platform. Students and/or teachers can either create their own electronic flashcard set, or they can simply search and find sets that have already been published. Benefits:  - Students can study vocab words, terms, or spelling words from any device. - Flashcards are electronic and in one space, so students will not worry about losing or misplacing their cards. - Flashcard sets/ decks can include images in videos, making them an engaging and interactive way to study. - Brainscape offers certified classes that educators can take. Buncee Buncee offers multiple templates that help students visualize, voice, and communicate their thoughts and learning. It can be access online or can be downloaded in Apple's App Store. It is an effective tool that is easy-to-use and is applicable to all grade levels and subjects.  Benefits: Buncee is engaging for students of all ages and abilities. This tool can be used to help build students' confidence. It also allows educators to provide personalized learning to students so that they can reach their individual goals and/or learning potential. Week 11: New Tool: Screencastify

  Screencastify Screencastify is a free Chrome extension that can be used to record, edit, and share videos. Educators can use this tool to make interactive videos for students, and students can use this to make their thinking visible and express themselves through screen recordings. Current uses: I have currently been integrating this technology into my online learning platform so that I can deliver information and instruction to students via video. This helps me explain information while showing students my screen as well as examples. This is useful because it can benefit both my visual and auditory learners.  Benefits: - Can be access through Google accounts - Easy to use - Records the screen so shy/quiet students feel more comfortable presenting - Videos autosave so information is not lost if errors arise and can be shared easily - Time limit for free version so videos do not surpass this time tremendously Changes for future instruction: In the future, I plan to have stude...

Week 10: New Tool: Easel by TPT

  Easel by TPT What is Easel ? Easel is a new addition to Teachers Pay Teachers, which allows educators to create digital activities that students can utilize and complete during online learning. I have been using this to create and assign learning tasks and activities to my students online. How it works: Educators must first create and customize their assignment, or use an Easel activity already created on TPT, to be completed online. They will then assign this to students via Google Classroom or through a generated link. After students complete the assignment online, teachers will then review their completed work and provide feedback on Easel . Week 10: Infused Classroom: Sketchnoting

Sketchnoting Sketchnoting, AKA "doodling for learning," is a more modern and effective way for students to take notes. They are able to track their thoughts using illustrations, symbols, and texts. This allows them to deepen their understanding of a concept using visuals. How it works: Students must first gather the necessary materials before beginning. Next, students must identify the main topic in which they will be taking notes over. Students must then actively listen to the information, and while listening, they will identify and record ideas and quotes. After identifying the important information, students may add personalized visuals, such as arrows, stars, clouds, etc. Benefits: - Increases retention - Increases focus - Customized notes Here is an overview of the Sketchnoting process:
